STUDENT LEADERSHIP

A key feature of Fairview Park Primary's success is the active involvement of students in the life of the school.  The school offers a diverse range of leadership opportunities for all senior students that includes joining leadership teams, such as
School Captains, House Captains, PE Leaders, Enviro Leaders, Choir Leaders, Media Leaders, Library Leaders, Front Office Leaders, Preschool Leaders and Nature Play Leaders.
At the beginning of each year senior students take part in a leadership conference.  Through their participation students learn about:
  • Public speaking
  • What makes a good leader
  • Expectations of being a good leader e.g. being a role model
  • Organisational and team skills
  • Encouraging and problem solving
During this day teachers discuss the various leadership opportunities that students may wish to apply for.  Students write a letter of application. The Principal and Senior Leader discuss the applications with the teachers and award the positions.  The school leaders are then introduced to the school during an assembly.
Students at Fairview Park Primary are very proud to be leaders and take their roles very seriously.  Students are proud to wear their school leadership badges.
